1. Sam Iskandar

Sam Iskandar in his second term at Marrickville Council. Sam has worked on Council to improve community services and to make Council policies and procedures easy for all people in our community.
Sam is committed to improving our parks and sportsgrounds and finding ways to engage young people in our community.
Sam migrated to Australia in 1977 and married Khadijeh in 1978. They have 6 children - Rima, Hiba, Mihamed, Donia, Maysaa and Mariam who range from 10 to 21 years of age.
Sam is the President of the Parents and Citizens Association and the Community Liaison Officer at Marrickville High School.
Prior to his current role, Sam established the Arabic Community School at Ferncourt Primary School.
2. Daniel Barbar

Daniel Barbar has lived with his family in Marrickville all his life. He is passionate about making council work for everyone in the community.
Improving Council services, protecting our local environment, celebrating our diverse community and supporting affordable housing are Daniel’s top priorities.
Daniel graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Finance. He currently works as a Business Banker looking after the banking needs of Small Business and Medium Enterprise. Daniel hopes to soon begin his studies in Chartered Accounting or a Masters of Business Administration.
Daniel is a member of Marrickville PCYC and SAVE Australia.
3. Cheryl Baume

Cheryl has lived in Marrickville for 14 years. Before retiring Cheryl worked as a tax accountant. Cheryl suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis. Cheryl has worked to improve accessibility around Marrickville.
Improving the accessibility of our footpaths, streets and shopping centres and doing all she can for the community she loves are Cheryl’s priorities for Marrickville Council.
